Mississippi Mud Cake
Nana Skull’s Mississippi Mud
This juice started as a conversation. Juice
makers tend to gravitate towards other juice makers when a large group of
vapers gathers. This is fairly normal, as far as I know. During one of these
get-togethers, I was sitting at a table with friends and peers that are fellow
juice makers. The topic of discussion was how difficult it is to make a cake
flavored e-liquid. Difficulties like the cake flavor taking over any of the
topping flavors, chocolate being a no-no due to the coco flavor taking over and
being overly bitter, and strength issues in the flavors combining. I asked my
peers if it was really that difficult to put together a balanced cake flavor,
as my experience is normally fruit flavors, sodas, and tobaccos. A friend
leaned over and boldly stated “Sean, you make tobacco flavors. We don’t want
you to make a cake flavor.” I’m still
not certain if the comment was meant as a joke, or if it was intended to spur
me on to make a cake flavor. After this conversation, my mind went to what is
missing in the cake e-liquid department.
I decided my best bet was to make one of my favorite cakes, one that my
mother makes regularly for family birthdays and such. A Mississippi Mud Cake.
Not a pie, a cake. The flavors are chocolate cake with pecan and coconut in it,
marshmallow cream over top the cake, and chocolate fudge coating over the
marshmallow cream. I think I’ve nailed this one. You’ll just have to let me
know, so I can share that info with my peers and my mother next time we talk.
It is her recipe after all.
